Richard Coleman
Richard is the Managing Director of The Callan Course of Leadership. In this role, he works to improve other’s level of personal excellence in life and leadership by re-awakening a heroic mindset and renewing the principles of classic leadership wisdom oriented to our modern society.
A passionate advocate of self-mastery and self-leadership, Richard helps people assume the mantle of Leadership, honorably guide their organizations, and successfully meet today’s complex challenges.
Richard is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonel who served over 30 years. A combat veteran of Iraq, he led award-winning teams at each echelon of his career in which he served nine years at a directorate-level (as a Commanding Officer and Asst. Chief of Staff). His personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, and Meritorious Service Medal with four gold stars. In 2012, he was awarded the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce “Military Lifetime Achievement Award” and in 2016 was presented the “Whitestone Award” by San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulkner, for community service among the San Diego Leadership Forum.
Richard has led thousands of people in complex global operations and has excelled in transforming groups into models of organizational excellence. He has a proven background in strategic planning and organizational development.
Richard has a BA from Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Marine Corps University with an MS in Military Studies.
